Deuteronomy literally means “Second Law” — it’s the second giving of the law to the people of Israel by Moses. And it’s essentially one long sermon preparing the people to cross into the Promised Land — a land that they can call their own.
Why should we read Deuteronomy? Because it is through the Law that the nature and character of God is revealed.
