Dear Friend of The Word Is Out,

The older I get, the more convinced I become that the work we are doing—often feeling as though we are doing it alone—is of inestimable importance. Although we have been understaffed following Brad Johnston’s resignation as President, we are delighted to welcome Shahe Gergian as our new part-time Operations Manager. Based in Clovis, California, and an ordained Church of Christ minister, Shahe brings both passion and experience to the ministry. The work goes on, and the excitement and energy behind our mission remain as strong as ever.

At our recent Board meeting, we reflected on the many ways God has allowed us to advance His kingdom and identified the ministries that bring the greatest impact. It is clear that we excel in promoting deeper biblical understanding among clergy and key church leaders through conferences and seminars. In recent years, we have also devoted ourselves to producing audio and video instructional materials—resources that extend our teaching far beyond the event itself.

The Board is convinced that these efforts—high-quality conferences supported by ongoing study materials—represent the core of what God is calling us to do. They lie at the very heart of our mission: The Word Is Out is a nonprofit organization focused on promoting biblical literacy by conducting worldwide seminars and conferences to train church leaders to interpret and teach Scripture effectively.

I’m excited about what lies ahead! We already have three conferences planned for 2026: one in March/April in the UK (which we believe may become our foothold into Europe), and two this summer in Nairobi and Mombasa in East Africa. On the resource side, our website now hosts podcasts on fourteen books of the Bible, and our new venture into video production has already resulted in a full study on Mark’s Gospel, with sixteen additional biblical books currently in development.

All of this, of course, requires financial support. I am profoundly grateful for your faithful prayers and generous contributions, which allow us to make this vital ministry available to thousands of clergy and lay leaders around the world. The full impact of your gifts will not be known until eternity, but I want to thank you now for believing in this work and enabling us, by God’s grace, to continue it. Nothing is more important.

With deep gratitude,

Alan Meenan
